This week's Funding Bulletin (October 21st - October 25th 2024)

A short summary of funding opportunities that have came to our attention this week.
Trusthouse Charitable Foundation Grants

Charities and not for profit organisations in the UK can apply for small grants of up to £10,000 to address urban and rural deprivation in the UK. The funding is being made available through the Trusthouse Charitable Foundation’s small grants programme.

To be eligible for a grant, eligible organisations must have an annual income of less than £250,000. They must also be able to demonstrate a clear need for funding and how the grant will be used to make a difference. Applicants need to match fund 50% of the project costs.



Co-Operative Bank's Customer Donation Fund

Organisations such as Registered Charities, Community Interest Companies, Co-operatives, and Credit Unions with a Community Directplus account can apply for up to £1,000 from the Customer Donation Fund.

Since 2003, the Co-operative Bank Donation Fund has donated over £1,000,000 to over 1,100 local good causes. The money can be used to support special projects and fundraising activities, and all Community Directplus account holders are eligible to apply.



Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation's Small Change Big Difference Fund

Organisations nominated by the Society's members and colleagues will receive grants of up to £2,500 to support initiatives that benefit vulnerable groups, including children, the seriously ill, the elderly, the homeless, and people with disabilities.

Funding can be used for projects or items that make a positive difference, such as sensory toys for children with special needs, social activities for the elderly, or staff training for programme delivery.

The Matthew Good Foundation Grants for Good Fund

The Matthew Good Foundation has opened the next round of its Grants for Good Fund. The aim is to support small charities, not-for-profit groups and social entrepreneurs who are passionate about making a difference to people, their community or the environment.

The Fund will share £15,000 between five shortlisted projects every three months, which will be voted for by John Good Group employees. The project that receives the most votes will receive a grant of £5,000, second place £3,500, third place £2,500 with fourth and fifth place both receiving £2,000.

As well as established projects and charities, the Foundation wants to hear from people with innovative ideas that need some funding to get their projects up and running.

To be eligible, applicants must have earned less than £50,000 in the last 12 months.

The Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme's Just Transition Fund

The Ofgem Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme has launched a new Just Transition Fund, providing £5 million in grants to support community renewable energy projects across England, Scotland, and Wales. The fund is designed to help charities and community energy groups develop projects that will benefit vulnerable populations and contribute to the UK's goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

Individual projects can apply for grants ranging from £20,000 to £250,000. The fund's purpose is to help build capacity in the community energy sector and demonstrate the benefits of a fair transition to renewable energy. It forms part of the scheme's broader goal of supporting carbon emissions reduction initiatives.

Baily Thomas General grants programme

UK charities, parent-teacher Associations, and schools can apply for grants to help children and adults suffering severe learning difficulties, including autism.

The funding is being made available through the Baily Thomas General grants programme and can be used to purchase equipment, support capital works, and cover project and core costs.

The Fund does not currently accept appeals from Community Interest Companies.

Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grants Programme

The Kellogg’s Breakfast Club Grants Programme has reopened for applications.   The programme offers grants of up to £1,000 to primary and secondary schools in the UK to set up Breakfast clubs for those children (up to the age of 13) in most need.
