A short summary of funding opportunities that have came to our attention this week.

Rewilding Britain's Rewilding Innovation Fund

Rewilding Britain's Rewilding Innovation Fund offers grants of up to £15,000 to support innovative rewilding projects across Britain.


The fund accepts applications from a range of organisations, including community groups, private landowners, and public-sector organisations involved in environmental conservation. To be considered, land-based projects must encompass a minimum of 40 hectares of contiguous land, while marine projects can be of any size.


Eligible projects can cover a wide range of activities, from community engagement and feasibility studies to technological innovations and strategic planning. The primary goal is to remove barriers to rewilding and encourage creative, impactful approaches to ecological restoration that benefit nature, climate, and local communities.

The Toy Trust Fund

Grants of up to £5,000 are available to small UK-registered children's charities to fund equipment and services to support disabled and disadvantaged children under the age of 13 across the UK. Groups that have carried out some form of effective fundraising by themselves are particularly encouraged to apply.



The Henry Smith Charity

Schools, youth groups, not-for-profit organisations and charities can apply for grants of £500 to £2,750 to support recreational trips or holidays within the UK for groups of disabled or disadvantaged children (aged 13 or under).


Applications from the 20% most deprived areas in the UK will receive priority. Grants can cover up to two-thirds of the cost of a holiday or trip lasting one to seven days.

The National Lottery Community Fund's You Decide grant scheme

Prior to rolling out the national programme, a total of £2 million is available for the development of this scheme. The development phase will involve working with 5 partners to work with and support local communities in designing and implementing effective ways of involving them in decision-making about grant allocations.


The development phase will run from spring 2025 to spring 2026 and partners can apply for grants of up to £80,000 to cover their costs. The remaining £1.6 million will be distributed amongst the 5 partners for onward granting to communities.


Potential partner organisation must:


  • Show that involving communities is one of your main purposes or activities.

  • Have experience of involving communities in making decisions about grants or what to support in their communities.

  • Have experience of giving out grants to communities.

  • Be committed to equity.

The Asda Foundation's Outdoor Community Spaces Fund

The Asda Foundation has launched its new Outdoor Community Spaces Fund, offering grants ranging from £500 to £3,000 for UK-based charities and not-for-profit organisations. With a total funding pot of up to £500,000, this initiative aims to improve or transform outdoor community spaces where people can gather and foster local pride.


Eligible projects include:

  • Transform an outdoor area, creating greener and more engaging community spaces.

  • Create or enhance community growing projects.

  • Enable community clean ups (Grants for community clear ups only will be capped at £500).


The fund is designed to create greener and more engaging community spaces, with a focus on increasing access for marginalised or vulnerable groups.


Applicants are encouraged to propose projects that bring local communities together and make a lasting difference to outdoor spaces.

The Screwfix Foundation

The Screwfix Foundation has re-opened for applications from charities and not-for-profit organisations for projects that will fix, repair, maintain, and improve the properties and community facilities of those in need due to financial hardship, sickness, disability, distress, or other disadvantage throughout the UK.


Grants in the region of £5,000 are available for a variety of projects, such as:

• Improved energy-efficient lighting & heating

• Installation of new kitchen, bathroom etc.

• Installation of a sensory room

• General painting & decorating

• Improving the safety and security of a building

The KFC Youth Foundation's Community Grant Programme

The KFC Youth Foundation is currently accepting applications for its Community Grant Programme, offering two-year grants of £3,000 per year to support organisations that empower young people aged 11 to 25. The total funding available for each successful applicant is £6,000 over the two-year period. The primary aim of these grants is to provide safe spaces, unlock talent, build life skills, offer mentoring, and enhance employment prospects for young individuals facing economic disadvantages, including care leavers, those experiencing homelessness, young carers, young parents, refugees, and those at risk of or with experience in the criminal justice system.


Eligible applicants include registered charities, community interest companies, unincorporated clubs or associations, and unregistered charities based in the UK.


Organisations must have an annual income not exceeding £400,000 and should have been established for at least 12 months. They must also have a signed constitution or governing documents, a bank account in the organisation's name requiring two unrelated signatories or dual authorisation, accounts detailing income and expenditure over the past 12 months, an active board of trustees or directors, and a suitable safeguarding policy.

The MSE Charity Fund

Small to medium-sized not-profit organisations, including UK registered charities, community interest companies, social enterprises, and credit unions can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to improve people’s money management skills and make a lasting impact on the way people think, behave & manage their money.


This funding is being made available through the MSE Charity, which was founded by Money–Saving Expert Martin Lewis and aims to support activities that improve financial education and capability across the UK.


Current deadline: 31st January 2025
