This week's Funding Bulletin (April 21st - April 25th 2025)

A short summary of funding opportunities that have came to our attention this week.

The AHF's Heritage Revival Fund

The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) has announced that its Heritage Revival Fund, a grants programme aimed at revitalising neglected historic buildings in town centres across England is now open for applications.

Funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and Historic England, this initiative is part of the government's £270 million investment in arts and culture. The programme seeks to empower community organisations to take ownership of local heritage assets, transforming them into thriving spaces that meet community needs.

Eligible applicants include charities, parish councils, not-for-profit organisations, and social enterprises, etc. Priority will be given to projects located in town centres across England.

UK Government's Windrush Compensation Scheme

The UK government has announced £1.5 million in funding to improve support for victims of the Windrush scandal applying for compensation.

This funding will increase advocacy support for applicants of the Windrush Compensation Scheme, which compensates individuals who suffered losses due to their inability to prove their right to live in the UK. The scheme is available to people of all ages and nationalities, including those from African, Asian, and Caribbean backgrounds.

With grants ranging from £10,000 to £40,000, organisations will be better equipped to guide those affected through the complex application process and help them secure their legal status.

Current deadline: 9th May 2025

Baily Thomas General grants programme

UK charities, parent-teacher Associations, and schools can apply for grants to help children and adults suffering severe learning difficulties, including autism.

The funding is being made available through the Baily Thomas General grants programme and can be used to purchase equipment, support capital works, and cover project and core costs. The Fund does not currently accept appeals from Community Interest Companies.

There are two funding programmes, with the main programme for grants of above £9,000 and a small grants programme for appeals below £9,000.

Current deadline: 1st August 2025

CRASH

Homelessness charities and hospices in England and Wales can apply for advice, support and grant funding to help with their construction projects. The grant is being provided by the Construction Industry's Charity (CRASH), and can be used for a variety of purposes, including refurbishing or renovating buildings, building new facilities, improving accessibility, and installing energy-saving measures.

The aim is to help homelessness charities and hospices in England and Wales improve their facilities.

The grant is open to registered charities that provide services to single homeless people over the age of 18 or people in need of end-of-life care. Applicants must have legal hold on the building in question for at least 5 years.

Equilibrium Foundation Grant Awards

Since 2010, the Equilibrium Foundation has raised and donated over £1 million to incredible causes, making a meaningful difference across the North West of England.

For Equilibrium’s 30th anniversary, they've committed to a £30,000 grant fund to support impactful initiatives in the local community.

The Equilibrium Foundation grant is open to:

  • UK Registered Charities (or exempt charities with an HMRC number)
