This morning, the flagship State of the Sector Survey for Cheshire and Merseyside was published showing the extraordinary impact of the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector.
Wirral CVS now has the pleasure in sharing the Wirral Summary Report outlining how important the sector is in providing services and support to our community.
Within the Summary Report, there are key findings regarding the sector's Income and Expenditure, Workforce and Volunteers, Community Assets and Skills and outlines the sector's priorities.
While the impact of the sector on communities, families, young people, older people and the local economy are all positive it is important to note that when the survey was completed earlier in the year the greatest priority for groups and organisations was sourcing funding opportunities. Indications are that this priority has increased, as it has nationally and is highlighted by the National #CostOfGiving campaign. Many organisations in Wirral are facing very challenging decisions as funds are stretched and demand for services are continuing to increase.
Organisations in Wirral are working harder and smarter to support their communities though with the sector taking key roles in the development of Mental Health services, Family Hubs, the roll out of the neighbourhood model and are taking an active role in representing the sector at a stretegic level in Wirral, the Liverpool City Region and across Cheshire & Merseyside.
