One Wirral CIC, on behalf of Wirral CVS, are delivering a social action project which encourages conversations around early signs and symptoms of cancer. This has been commissioned by Cheshire and Merseyside Cancer Alliance.
One Wirral CIC now have a vacancy for a part-time Social Action Lead (3 days per week) over a 12 month period to work with local organisations raising awareness and supporting Social Action projects across Wirral.
With awareness to potential difficulties organisations in the sector may experience in 2025, this is initially being offered as a secondment opportunity for 12 months to any existing staff within the VCFSE sector who may be at risk and to support each other through financially difficult times.
Karen Livesey, One Wirral's Director, said "this is an effort to retain who we have in the sector and try and lighten the burden that many organisations are currently carrying."
"Do you have a staff member that you really want to keep but just haven’t the funding at this present time? This 12 month secondment will give them the opportunity to join the One Wirral team and work with a range of organisations across Wirral doing something different for part of their week whilst still employed by your organisation. In 12 months when funding opportunities are a little clearer, then you may be able to offer them something internally again."
