Our Representation Portal is live - Reps needed!

Taking the Lead

As one of the four key pillars of our support, taking the lead involves us advocating for strong and effective leadership within the sector. In light of this, we've been working to put together a representation portal available for the sector to view and apply to be representatives on different boards across Cheshire and Merseyside. We're now very happy to say that this representation portal is now available to access, providing you with a look into how the representation model works, who your local representatives are and how to become a representative yourself. For those unfamiliar, below is a brief explanation of the representation model.

The Representation Model

The VCFSE sector in Wirral has implemented a dispersed leadership model to guarantee adequate representation and provide support for emerging leaders. This model, developed by the sector, aims to empower individuals with the necessary skills and expertise to represent the sector effectively on a strategic level.

The role of Wirral CVS is to implement and enhance the model in collaboration with the sector, coordinate opportunities, and guarantee the sharing of information from Representatives.

Our aim is to guarantee that both experienced and emerging leaders, chosen by the sector, advocate for the broader sector interests at a strategic decision-making level throughout Wirral, Liverpool City Region, and the Cheshire and Merseyside (ICS) areas.

Become a Rep

In order to implement representation in the sector, we need to have the representatives in place to begin the process. To be a rep, you need to:

  • Prepare for each meeting by reading all the relevant papers.

  • Make a commitment to attend all meetings on time, or give apologies if unable to attend.

  • Participate in key network meetings to ascertain and strengthen the development of shared views within the sector.

  • To act as a positive ambassador for the sector and to operate in a professional manner at all meetings.

  • Reflect the broader views of the voluntary, community and faith sector over and above their personal interests or those of their organisation.

  • Report back on the meetings they attend and key matters of common interest.

  • Act as a positive ambassador for the sector and act within the operating guidelines set out here.

  • Be aware of, and declare, potential conflicts of interests.

If you would like to become a rep, please go to our portal and look through the current opportunities we have available.
