The RSMP would like to hear from you if you work with migrant women

The North West Regional Strategic Migration Partnership (RSMP) are looking for support in finding organisations who interact with migrant women and mothers to seek their views on their work and how to can adapt moving forward. Below is their message to the VCFSE:
"We know that there are projects already looking at aspects of [migrant women's experiences of pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood] across the region, some dedicated to specific communities, such as women in the asylum system and women affected by charging but also more broadly work with a focus on racialised experiences of reproductive and maternity care.
We would be grateful to have a better understanding of this work, to explore what learning we could facilitate across the region from existing projects, and to play a part in exploring ways to address the remaining gaps in this space.
We have two asks, please:
Intelligence: experiences and examples
We’d like to hear about the issues you observe in your care and support of women and new-borns.
We would also be grateful to connect with women who want to share their stories and be part of thinking about solutions. Your suggestions on best ways of doing this would be helpful.
Intelligence: projects and specialists
We’d like to hear about projects or programmes of work that you are involved in (or aware of) that seek to improve care or experiences – these could be small adjustments in practice or fully-fledged projects.
We would also like to connect with specialists in this area of work (these could be midwives or other clinicians but could also be doulas, support staff, strategists, academics etc)."
If you would like to discuss any of the above or believe you and/or your organisation can help support the RSMP, send an e-mail to Amy Robinson at amy.robinson@manchester.gov.uk
