The Charity Commission has recently released revised guidelines, which outline what charities may and may not do concerning campaigning activities before a General Election.
A general election has been called to take place on 4 July 2024, and many charities will see this as an opportunity to highlight the issues faced by their beneficiaries.
As made clear in statements by the Charity Commission Chair, charities can take part in political activity that supports their purpose and is in their best interests. However, charities must follow the law when doing so.
