It was my first COP meeting in my new role as Development Manager for Wirral CVS. Meeting with old friends and making some new friends.
We had an interesting line up and some of the take aways for me were:
Phil from Forum Housing asked if anyone would like to deliver taster sessions for them at the Market Wells hub with regards to their education and employment programmes.
Alison from the team that brought us the fantastic MakeFest event last year, updated us on the plans for 2024. Her ask was that they are bereft of people with experience in education and finance, and are keen to hear from people who are able to help.
Alison also mentioned that there are also some very exciting things happening for the Wirral Borough of Culture , and the events should be announced soon so do keep an eye out for that.
Naomi from Wirral Environmental Network mentioned that many of their environmental partner organisations are looking for volunteers, especially tree wardens, so do get in touch with Naomi if that interests you. She also mentioned the fact that they had giant pollinator sculptures available for events which really piqued my interest.
Charlotte from Be Well Learning mentioned some of their courses that they have availability on, including Mental Health Awareness, and Resilience and Wellbeing (which may have criteria attached)
Finally Modupe talked about the insights gathering for the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority upcoming Spatial development Strategy. Your input is crucial, and they have identified eight key policies from the draft, focusing on Strategic Housing Need and Distribution, Strategic Employment Land, Need, and Distribution, Sustainable and Inclusive Communities, Promoting Health and Wellbeing, Sustainable Transport and Travel, Energy, Safer Placemaking, and Delivering Social Value.
Let me know if you need any contact details for anyone above.
Don't forget that the next COP is on the 7th March, looking forward to seeing you there.
Good to see everyone there on Thursday 25th Jan, and catch up.
